Vayechi - Shevii

(כא) וְעַתָּה֙ אַל־תִּירָ֔אוּ אָנֹכִ֛י אֲכַלְכֵּ֥ל אֶתְכֶ֖ם וְאֶֽת־טַפְּכֶ֑ם וַיְנַחֵ֣ם אוֹתָ֔ם וַיְדַבֵּ֖ר עַל־לִבָּֽם׃ (כב) וַיֵּ֤שֶׁב יוֹסֵף֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם ה֖וּא וּבֵ֣ית אָבִ֑יו וַיְחִ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף מֵאָ֥ה וָעֶ֖שֶׂר שָׁנִֽים׃ (כג) וַיַּ֤רְא יוֹסֵף֙ לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם בְּנֵ֖י שִׁלֵּשִׁ֑ים גַּ֗ם בְּנֵ֤י מָכִיר֙ בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה יֻלְּד֖וּ עַל־בִּרְכֵּ֥י יוֹסֵֽף׃ (כד) וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יוֹסֵף֙ אֶל־אֶחָ֔יו אָנֹכִ֖י מֵ֑ת וֵֽאלֹהִ֞ים פָּקֹ֧ד יִפְקֹ֣ד אֶתְכֶ֗ם וְהֶעֱלָ֤ה אֶתְכֶם֙ מִן־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את אֶל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֛ע לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם לְיִצְחָ֖ק וּֽלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ (כה) וַיַּשְׁבַּ֣ע יוֹסֵ֔ף אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר פָּקֹ֨ד יִפְקֹ֤ד אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְהַעֲלִתֶ֥ם אֶת־עַצְמֹתַ֖י מִזֶּֽה׃ (כו) וַיָּ֣מׇת יוֹסֵ֔ף בֶּן־מֵאָ֥ה וָעֶ֖שֶׂר שָׁנִ֑ים וַיַּחַנְט֣וּ אֹת֔וֹ וַיִּ֥ישֶׂם בָּאָר֖וֹן בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃

(כא) וּכְעַן לָא תִדַּחֲלוּן אֲנָא אֵזוּן יָתְכוֹן וְיָת טַפְלְכוֹן וְנַחֵם יָתְהוֹן וּמַלֵּל תַּנְחוּמִין עַל לִבְּהוֹן: (כב) וִיתֵיב יוֹסֵף בְּמִצְרַיִם הוּא וּבֵית אָבוּהִי וַחֲיָא יוֹסֵף מְאָה וַעֲסַר שְׁנִין: (כג) וַחֲזָא יוֹסֵף לְאֶפְרַיִם בְּנִין תְּלִיתָאִין אַף בְּנֵי מָכִיר בַּר מְנַשֶּׁה אִתְיְלִידוּ וְרַבִּי יוֹסֵף: (כד) וַאֲמַר יוֹסֵף לַאֲחוֹהִי אֲנָא מָאִית וַייָ מִדְכַּר דְּכִיר יָתְכוֹן וְיִסַּק יָתְכוֹן מִן אַרְעָא הָדָא לְאַרְעָא דִּי קַיִּים לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב: (כה) וְאוֹמֵי יוֹסֵף יָת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמֵימָר מִדְכַּר דְּכִיר יְיָ יָתְכוֹן וְתַסְּקוּן יָת גַּרְמַי מִכָּא: (כו) וּמִית יוֹסֵף בַּר מְאָה וַעֲסַר שְׁנִין וַחֲנָטוּ יָתֵיהּ וְשָׂמוּהִי בְאָרוֹנָא בְּמִצְרָיִם:

21. Now don’t fear. I will sustain you and your infants.” He consoled them and spoke comforting words to their hearts. 22. Yoseif dwelled in Egypt, he and his father’s household. Yoseif lived 110 years. 23. Yoseif saw the third generation of Efraim’s children. The children of Menashe’s son Machir were also born and Yoseif raised them. 24. Yoseif said to his brothers, “I’m dying. Hashem surely remembers[1] you and will bring you up from this land to the land that He promised to Avraham, to Yitzchak and to Yaakov.” 25. Yoseif had the sons of Yisroel swear, saying, “Hashem surely remembers you; you shall bring my bones up from here.” 26. Yoseif died at the age of 110 years. They embalmed him and they put him in a coffin in Egypt.

[1] Rather than “will remember.” Onkelos always renders the verb “to remember” in the present tense when referring to God because God doesn’t forget.
