2,738. “Let’s Go Learn Some Torah”

Hilchos Nedarim 1:28

If someone took a vow by what’s written in the Torah, the object becomes prohibited to him because the Torah includes prohibitions and vows. If he held a Torah and took an oath on it, it’s the same as taking a vow by what’s written in it.

Hilchos Nedarim 1:29

If one person tells another, “Let’s go learn some Torah,” he must go learn. This is considered like a vow even though he didn’t use the phraseology of a vow.
