(לט) וַיֹּ֤אמֶר פַּרְעֹה֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף אַחֲרֵ֨י הוֹדִ֧יעַ אֱלֹהִ֛ים אוֹתְךָ֖ אֶת־כׇּל־זֹ֑את אֵין־נָב֥וֹן וְחָכָ֖ם כָּמֽוֹךָ׃ (מ) אַתָּה֙ תִּהְיֶ֣ה עַל־בֵּיתִ֔י וְעַל־פִּ֖יךָ יִשַּׁ֣ק כׇּל־עַמִּ֑י רַ֥ק הַכִּסֵּ֖א אֶגְדַּ֥ל מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ (מא) וַיֹּ֥אמֶר פַּרְעֹ֖ה אֶל־יוֹסֵ֑ף רְאֵה֙ נָתַ֣תִּי אֹֽתְךָ֔ עַ֖ל כׇּל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ (מב) וַיָּ֨סַר פַּרְעֹ֤ה אֶת־טַבַּעְתּוֹ֙ מֵעַ֣ל יָד֔וֹ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן אֹתָ֖הּ עַל־יַ֣ד יוֹסֵ֑ף וַיַּלְבֵּ֤שׁ אֹתוֹ֙ בִּגְדֵי־שֵׁ֔שׁ וַיָּ֛שֶׂם רְבִ֥ד הַזָּהָ֖ב עַל־צַוָּארֽוֹ׃ (מג) וַיַּרְכֵּ֣ב אֹת֗וֹ בְּמִרְכֶּ֤בֶת הַמִּשְׁנֶה֙ אֲשֶׁר־ל֔וֹ וַיִּקְרְא֥וּ לְפָנָ֖יו אַבְרֵ֑ךְ וְנָת֣וֹן אֹת֔וֹ עַ֖ל כׇּל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ (מד) וַיֹּ֧אמֶר פַּרְעֹ֛ה אֶל־יוֹסֵ֖ף אֲנִ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה וּבִלְעָדֶ֗יךָ לֹֽא־יָרִ֨ים אִ֧ישׁ אֶת־יָד֛וֹ וְאֶת־רַגְל֖וֹ בְּכׇל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ (מה) וַיִּקְרָ֨א פַרְעֹ֣ה שֵׁם־יוֹסֵף֮ צָֽפְנַ֣ת פַּעְנֵ֒חַ֒ וַיִּתֶּן־ל֣וֹ אֶת־אָֽסְנַ֗ת בַּת־פּ֥וֹטִי פֶ֛רַע כֹּהֵ֥ן אֹ֖ן לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַיֵּצֵ֥א יוֹסֵ֖ף עַל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ (מו) וְיוֹסֵף֙ בֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה בְּעׇמְד֕וֹ לִפְנֵ֖י פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרָ֑יִם וַיֵּצֵ֤א יוֹסֵף֙ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר בְּכׇל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ (מז) וַתַּ֣עַשׂ הָאָ֔רֶץ בְּשֶׁ֖בַע שְׁנֵ֣י הַשָּׂבָ֑ע לִקְמָצִֽים׃ (מח) וַיִּקְבֹּ֞ץ אֶת־כׇּל־אֹ֣כֶל ׀ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָיוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּתֶּן־אֹ֖כֶל בֶּעָרִ֑ים אֹ֧כֶל שְׂדֵה־הָעִ֛יר אֲשֶׁ֥ר סְבִיבֹתֶ֖יהָ נָתַ֥ן בְּתוֹכָֽהּ׃ (מט) וַיִּצְבֹּ֨ר יוֹסֵ֥ף בָּ֛ר כְּח֥וֹל הַיָּ֖ם הַרְבֵּ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד עַ֛ד כִּי־חָדַ֥ל לִסְפֹּ֖ר כִּי־אֵ֥ין מִסְפָּֽר׃ (נ) וּלְיוֹסֵ֤ף יֻלַּד֙ שְׁנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים בְּטֶ֥רֶם תָּב֖וֹא שְׁנַ֣ת הָרָעָ֑ב אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָֽלְדָה־לּוֹ֙ אָֽסְנַ֔ת בַּת־פּ֥וֹטִי פֶ֖רַע כֹּהֵ֥ן אֽוֹן׃ (נא) וַיִּקְרָ֥א יוֹסֵ֛ף אֶת־שֵׁ֥ם הַבְּכ֖וֹר מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה כִּֽי־נַשַּׁ֤נִי אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת־כׇּל־עֲמָלִ֔י וְאֵ֖ת כׇּל־בֵּ֥ית אָבִֽי׃ (נב) וְאֵ֛ת שֵׁ֥ם הַשֵּׁנִ֖י קָרָ֣א אֶפְרָ֑יִם כִּֽי־הִפְרַ֥נִי אֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּאֶ֥רֶץ עׇנְיִֽי׃

(לט) וַאֲמַר פַּרְעֹה לְיוֹסֵף בָּתַר דְּאוֹדַע יְיָ יָתָךְ יָת כָּל דָּא לֵית סָכְלְתָן וְחַכִּים כְּוָתָךְ: (מ) אַתְּ תְּהֵי מְמַנָּא עַל בֵּיתִי וְעַל מֵימְרָךְ יִתְּזַן כָּל עַמִּי לְחוֹד כָּרְסֵי מַלְכוּתָא הָדֵין אֵיהֵי יַקִּיר מִנָּךְ: (מא) וַאֲמַר פַּרְעֹה לְיוֹסֵף חֲזֵי מַנֵּיתִי יָתָךְ עַל כָּל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם: (מב) וְאַעְדִּי פַרְעֹה יָת עִזְקְתֵיהּ מֵעַל יְדֵיהּ וִיהַב יָתַהּ עַל יְדָא דְיוֹסֵף וְאַלְבִּישׁ יָתֵיהּ לְבוּשִׁין דְּבוּץ וְשַׁוִּי מָנִיכָא דְדַהֲבָא עַל צַוְּארֵיהּ: (מג) וְאַרְכֵּיב יָתֵיהּ בִּרְתִכָּא תִנְיֵתָא דִּי לֵיהּ וְאַכְרִיזוּ קֳדָמוֹהִי דֵּין אַבָּא לְמַלְכָּא וּמַנִּי יָתֵיהּ עַל כָּל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם: (מד) וַאֲמַר פַּרְעֹה לְיוֹסֵף אֲנָא פַרְעֹה וּבַר מֵימְרָךְ לָא יְרִים גְּבַר יָת יְדֵיהּ לְמֵיחַד זֵין וְיָת רַגְלֵיהּ לְמִרְכַּב עַל סוּסְיָא בְּכָל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם: (מה) וּקְרָא פַרְעֹה שׁוּם יוֹסֵף גַּבְרָא דְמִטַּמְרָן גָּלְיָן לֵיהּ וִיהַב לֵיהּ יָת אָסְנַת בַּת פּוֹטִי פֶרַע רַבָּא דְאוֹן לְאִתְּתָא וּנְפַק יוֹסֵף (שַׁלִּיט) עַל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם: (מו) וְיוֹסֵף בַּר תְּלָתִין שְׁנִין כַּד קָם קֳדָם פַּרְעֹה מַלְכָּא דְמִצְרָיִם וּנְפַק יוֹסֵף מִן קֳדָם פַּרְעֹה וַעֲבַר (שַׁלִּיט) בְּכָל אַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם: (מז) וּכְנָשׁוּ דָיְרֵי אַרְעָא בִּשְׁבַע שְׁנֵי שׂוֹבְעָא (נ"א שִׂבְעָא) עִיבוּרָא לְאוֹצָרִין: (מח) וּכְנַשׁ יָת כָּל עִיבוּר שְׁבַע שְׁנִין דִּי הֲווֹ בְּאַרְעָא דְמִצְרַיִם וִיהַב עִיבוּר בְּקִרְוַיָּא עִיבוּר חֲקַל קַרְתָּא דִּי בְסַחְרָנָהָא יְהַב בְּגַוָּהּ: (מט) וּכְנַשׁ יוֹסֵף עִבוּרָא כְּחַלָּא דְיַמָּא סַגִּי לַחֲדָא עַד דִּי פְסַק לְמִמְנֵי אֲרֵי לֵית מִנְיָן: (נ) וּלְיוֹסֵף אִתְיְלִיד תַּרְתֵּין בְּנִין עַד לָא עַלַּת שַׁתָּא דְכַפְנָא דִּיְלִידַת לֵיהּ אָסְנַת בַּת פּוֹטִי פֶרַע רַבָּא דְאוֹן: (נא) וּקְרָא יוֹסֵף יָת שׁוּם בּוּכְרָא מְנַשֶּׁה אֲרֵי אַנְשְׁיַנִי יְיָ יָת כָּל עַמְלִי וְיָת כָּל בֵּית אַבָּא: (נב) וְיָת שׁוּם תִּנְיָנָא קְרָא אֶפְרָיִם אֲרֵי אַפְּשַׁנִי יְיָ בְּאַרַע שִׁעְבּוּדִי:

39. Pharaoh said to Yoseif, “Since Hashem has made all this known to you, there is no one as understanding and wise as you. 40. You will be appointed over my house and by your mouth all my people will be supported.[1] Only in the royal throne will I be more honored than you.” 41. Pharaoh said to Yoseif, “See, I have appointed you over all the land of Egypt.” 42. Pharaoh removed his ring from upon his hand and he placed it on Yoseif’s hand. He dressed him in clothes of linen and he put a gold chain on his neck. 43. He had him ride in the second chariot and they cried before him, “This is the king’s father!”[2] He appointed him over the entire land of Egypt. 44. Pharaoh said to Yoseif, “I am Pharaoh but without your word, no one will lift his hand to bear weapons or his foot to ride a horse throughout the land of Egypt.” 45. Pharaoh called Yoseif’s name “the man to whom hidden things are revealed.”[3] He gave him Asnas the daughter of Poti-Fera, the chief of Ohn,[4] as a wife. Yoseif went out ruler over the land of Egypt. 46. Yoseif was 30 years old when he stood before Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Yoseif left Pharaoh’s presence and he traveled through the entire land of Egypt. 47. During the seven years of plenty, the residents of the land gathered grain for the storehouses. 48. He gathered all the grain of the seven years that were in the land of Egypt. He put the grain in cities; the grain of the field that surrounds a city, he put in it.[5] 49. So Yoseif stored grain like the sands of the sea – very many – until he stopped counting it because it was uncountable. 50. Yoseif fathered two sons before the years of famine came, who were delivered to him by Asnas the daughter of Poti-Fera, the chief of Ohn. 51. Yoseif called the name of the firstborn Menashe – “Hashem has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.” 52. The name of the second he called Efraim – “Hashem has made me fertile in the land of my enslavement.”
