Brachos 6:6

If those dining sat upright, indicating that they were dining individually, they would bentch separately. If they reclined, as was the custom of the time, this would indicate that they were dining together and they would bentch together. If they were brought wine during the course of the meal, they would recite the bracha individually; after the meal (meaning the cup of wine for bentching), one person would recite it for all of them. The one leading bentching also recites the blessing over incense (as was the custom) even though the meal is finished by then.

Brachos 6:7

If something salted is served with bread as part of the meal, the bracha on the food exempts the bread, which is subordinate to it. The general principle is that bracha over a main food exempts that of a subordinate food.
