Shabbos 17:6-7
Shabbos 17:6
If a stone is placed in a pumpkin shell, and they are able to draw water with it without the stone falling out, it may be used to draw water on Shabbos. If the stone falls out, they may not draw with it on Shabbos. If a bucket was tied to a branch, they may use it to draw water on Shabbos.
Shabbos 17:7
When it comes to window shutters, Rabbi Eliezer says that they may be used as long as they are tied to the window and hanging in the air (as opposed to laying on the ground), otherwise not. The Sages say that either way, the shutters may be used.
