Beitza 2:6-7

Beitzah 2:6

Rabban Gamliel was stringent like Beis Shammai in three matters: he did not permit hot food to be insulated on yom tov for use on Shabbos; he did not permit a candelabra that came apart to be reassembled on yom tov, and he did not permit one to bake thick loaves on yom tov, only thin ones. Rabban Gamliel said, “In my father’s house they never baked thick loaves on yom tov, only thin ones.” The Sages replied that the practice of Rabban Gamliel’s father only reflected his personal stringency in this matter but he actually ruled that people may bake thick loaves and cakes on yom tov.

Beitzah 2:7

Rabban Gamliel ruled leniently in three matters: one may sweep around beds on yom tov, one may burn incense on yom tov, and one may roast a goat on Passover night. The Sages, however, prohibit all of these things.
