On chol hamoed, a regular person may sew in the usual manner but a professional may only make intermittent stitches. One may lace the ropes of a bed frame; Rabbi Yosi says the ropes may even be tightened.
Moed Katan 1:9
One may set up an oven, stove or millstone on chol hamoed; Rabbi Yehuda says that one may not chisel a millstone for the first time.
