Kesubos 2:5-6

Kesubos 2:5

If a woman claims that she was married but is now divorced, she is believed because she both created the claim (“I was married”) and answered it (“I am now divorced”). However, if witnesses report that she is married and she replies that she is now divorced, she is not believed. If a woman claims that she was taken captive but she was not defiled by her captors, she is believed because she both created the claim and answered it. However, if witnesses report that she had been taken captive and she responds that she was not defiled, she is not believed. (The practical difference is her ability to marry a kohein.) If witnesses came after she was already married and reported that she had once been taken captive, she does not have to leave her husband.

Kesubos 2:6

Let’s say that two women had been taken captive. If each one says that she was captured but remains undefiled, they are not believed but if each one testifies about the other, they are believed.
