Kesubos 4:8-9

Kesubos 4:8

If a man did not write in the kesubah that, should his wife be taken captive, he will ransom her and take her back, or return her to her land in the case of a kohein, he is nevertheless so obligated because that’s the rule that the courts enacted.

Kesubos 4:9

If a woman is taken captive, her husband is obligated to ransom her. He is not permitted to say, “Here’s a get and the money to pay her kesubah – let her ransom herself!” If she got sick, he is obligated to have her healed. He is permitted to say, “Here’s a get and the money to pay her kesubah – let her heal herself!”
