Sotah 2:5-6

Sotah 2:5

To what does the woman answer “amen, amen?” Amen to: the curse; the oath; regarding the suspected man; regarding some other man. Amen that she did not commit adultery while betrothed, married, awaiting yibum or after consummating same. Amen that she did not defile herself and if she did, may the curses come upon her. Rabbi Meir says: Amen that she did not defile herself, nor will she do so in the future.

Sotah 2:6

Everyone agrees that the husband cannot extend the woman’s oath to what she did before they were betrothed, nor to what she might do after they divorce. If they divorce and she subsequently secludes herself and has relations with another man, then her ex-husband remarries her, he cannot extend her oath to cover that interim period. The general rule is that if the woman has relations at a time that would not prohibit her to her husband, the husband cannot extend her oath to such times.
