2,613. A Sanctified Bird

Hilchos Shechita 13:20

Let’s say that someone sanctified a wild bird for the Temple upkeep. It flew away but he later finds it sitting on chicks or eggs. In such a case, he should take the whole nest and bring it to the Temple treasurer because sending the mother bird away doesn’t apply to consecrated birds, as per Deuteronomy 22:7, “You may take the young for yourself.” Sanctified birds may not be taken for oneself.

Hilchos Shechita 13:21

If a bird kills a person, one need not send it away because we are commanded to bring it to court for legal action.
