2,478. Non-Jewish Honey
Maachalos Assuros 17:23
If non-Jewish honey was cooked and made into candy, it is permitted for the same reasons as oil (in the previous halacha).
Maachalos Assuros 17:24
The dregs of non-Jewish dates that were heated in hot water are permitted regardless of whether they were heated in a large pot or a small pot because meat would ruin the taste. Likewise, pickled foods that don’t normally have vinegar, wine, or pickled olives or grasshoppers added can be brought from the storeroom and are permitted, though grasshoppers and pickled foods over which wine is sprinkled are prohibited. If vinegar – even beer vinegar – is sprinkled over them, they are likewise prohibited.
