2,476. If a Non-Jew Cooked Unintentionally
Maachalos Assuros 17:19
If a non-Jew cooked unintentionally, the resulting food is permitted. Accordingly, if a non-Jew lit a fire in a marsh to clean the brush, inadvertently roasting some kosher grasshoppers, one may eat them, even in places where such things would be served on a royal table as an appetizer. Similarly, if a non-Jew burns an animal’s head to remove the hair, one may eat the meat that was roasted as an unintended consequence.
Maachalos Assuros 17:20
If sweet dates were cooked by non-Jews, they’re permitted; if the dates were bitter and cooking sweetened them, they are prohibited. Dates that are of medium sweetness before cooking are likewise prohibited.
