If a non-Jew salts fish or smokes fruit, preparing them for eating, they are permitted. In this matter, salting is not tantamount to boiling and smoking isn’t considered cooking. Kernels of grain roasted by a non-Jew are likewise permitted. Such things weren’t included in the enactment because a person won’t invite someone over to eat roasted grain.

Beans, peas, lentils, etc. that were cooked by non-Jews and then offered for sale are prohibited as non-Jewish cooking in places where such things would be served on a royal table as a condiment; they are prohibited things everywhere out of concern that they might have been cooked with meat or in a fleishig pot. Dough that was fried by non-Jews is likewise a prohibited thing.
