2,472. Pas Akum Leniencies
Maachalos Assuros 17:11
One may drink wine made from apples, pomegranates, etc. anywhere as the Sages didn’t make enactments about unusual circumstances. Raisin wine is the same as grape wine and is used for libations.
Maachalos Assuros 17:12
Even though the Sages prohibited non-Jewish bread, there are places where people are lenient. For example, non-Jewish bread may be purchased in a place where there’s no Jewish baker and that is in a field because these are extenuating circumstances. However, there’s no such leniency regarding the bread baked by a homeowner because the main reason for the law is to impede intermarriage. If one eats the bread of a homeowner, he’s more likely to socialize with him.
