2,417. Moving 100 Barrels for $100
Maachalos Assuros 13:17
If a non-Jew rented a Jew’s donkey for riding and he put barrels of wine on it, the money received for renting for the donkey is permitted. If he hires a Jew to break barrels of wine that was used as a libation, his wages are permitted – in fact, the Rambam says he should be blessed for eradicating something that was used in the service of idolatry!
Maachalos Assuros 13:18
Let’s say that someone hires a worker to transport 100 barrels of beer for a wage of 100 prutah and one of the barrels is found to be non-Jewish wine. In such a case, all of his wages are prohibited.
