In a nice bit of Hebrew word play that really doesn't translate, Yaakov says that Gad may be attacked by enemy forces, but he will strike them back. Asher will produce all the finest delicacies, fit for a king. Naftali was compared to a swift and beautiful deer.

Yoseif was praised for his beauty. He is compared to a fruitful vine. All the girls climb the wall just to get a look at him. Many people made Yoseif's life difficult, but he ultimately overcame his troubles to the point where he was decked in gold. This came from G-d, Who would continue to protect Yoseif and help him to thrive.
