Baba Basra 4:7-8

Baba Basra 4:7

If a person sells a city, the sale includes houses, wells, ditches, caves, bathhouses, pigeon coops, olive presses and irrigated fields but not movable property. If the seller specifies that the sale includes everything in the city, then even cattle and servants are included. Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel says that if someone sells a city, the sale includes the servants who serve as city guard (since such is an inherent component of the city).

Baba Basra 4:8

If a person sells a field, the sale includes the stones that are necessary for the field’s protection, the reeds in the vineyard that are necessary to support the vines, grain that is still attached to the ground, a partition of reeds that is smaller than a beis rova (a measure of area about 15’x15’), a guard booth that is not made using clay, a carob tree that has not been grafted to another tree, and a sycamore sapling.
