Avos 5:2

There were ten generations from Adam to Noach in order to show us how long-suffering God is; all of these generations increasingly angered Him before He finally brought the flood upon them. There were ten generations from Noach until Avraham to show us how His long-suffering God is; all of these generations increasingly angered Him until Avraham came and earned the reward that could have been accumulated by all of them.

Avos 5:3

Our father Avraham was tested through ten trials and he withstood all of them, to demonstrate how great his love for God was.
