Parah 5:1-2
Parah 5:1
The one who brings the earthenware vessel for the purification water must immerse and spend the night at the furnace (where the vessels are fired, to protect the vessel from impurity). Rabbi Yehuda says that he may bring it from the (potter’s) house and it is valid because everyone is deemed reliable (about ritual impurity) when it comes to the water of the red heifer. When it comes to a vessel for trumah, one may open the furnace and take it. Rabbi Shimon says that one takes a vessel from the second row (but not the first, as it may have been touched by a person unknowledgeable about ritual impurity). Rabbi Yosi says that he takes from the third row.
Parah 5:2
If one immersed a vessel for the purification water in water that is unfit for sanctification, he must dry it. If he immersed it in water that is fit for sanctification, he need not dry it. If he intended to collect already-sanctified water in it, then he must dry it in either case.
