2,191. A Man with a Damaged Organ

Hilchos Issurei Biah 16:1

If a man with crushed testes or a severed male member married a woman who was born Jewish and they were intimate, he is liable to lashes as per Deuteronomy 23:2, “A man with crushed testes or a severed member may not join the general marriage pool.” He may marry a convert woman or a freed servant woman. Even a kohein with crushed testes may marry a convert or a freed servant because he’s not able to serve as a kohein; he may even marry a Gibeonite woman or one whose status is doubtful.

Hilchos Issurei Biah 16:2

Since a man with a damaged member may not join the general marriage pool, the Sages didn’t prohibit him marrying a Gibeonite woman or one whose status is doubtful. He may not, however, marry a definite mamzeres because that violates a Biblical prohibition.
