1,806. "Don't Deliver It Yourself"
Hilchos Geirushin 9:37
If a man told his agent to give the woman her get and then take a certain object from her, then the agent shouldn’t send the get with someone else. This is because the man wouldn’t want the object in question to be entrusted to another party. If the agent did send the get with someone else, then divorce is effected regardless of whether she gave the object to the agent before or after receiving her get.
Hilchos Geirushin 9:38
If a man gives a get to an agent and specifies that no one should deliver it other than him, then divorce is not effected if he gives it to someone else who delivers it. Similarly, if the man tells his agent not to deliver it himself, but rather to give it to person X, who will deliver it, then divorce is not effected if the first agent delivers it himself. This is because he wasn’t appointed agent for that purpose.
