Any part of an offering that could only be brought by day – such as the handful of flour offerings, the frankincense of flour offerings, the incense, and flour offerings that are burned on the altar – could be offered on the altar at sunset. They could continue to burn on the altar all night long, just like the limbs of burnt offerings.

The libations that are brought with offerings are only brought by day, as per Numbers 29:39: “for their libations and their peace offerings,” establishing a connection between peace offerings and libations. Just as peace offerings are only offered by day, the libations must likewise be offered only by day. Nevertheless, the libations that were brought separately could be sanctified by night and offered by night. Therefore, if someone acquired libations that are brought separately, he could sanctify and offer them by night. Daybreak would disqualify such libations, just as it does the limbs of burnt offerings.
