#321: Liquid Mixtures
1. We mentioned yesterday that both a belilah avah (thick mixture) and belilah rakah (thin mixture) are prohibited to prepare on Shabbat. A third type of mixture is one that is very liquid or watery. Preparing such a mixture is not considered losh since it does not make a unified solid (Chazon Ish).
2. Based on this, it is permitted to prepare a very liquidy baby cereal. Likewise, making chocolate milk is permitted since it is a liquid. However, one must make sure not to add too much powder at once with only a small amount of milk or liquid. Otherwise, it may form the consistency of a paste, which could qualify as a belilah avah or belilah rakah.
