3,989. Eighty Lashes for a Metzora
Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 3:9
If a person with tzaraas entered the Temple Mount, he is subject to eighty lashes (one set of forty for entering Jerusalem, and another set of forty for ascending the Temple Mount). If someone who is ritually unclean from corpse impurity or a person who immersed that day entered the women’s courtyard, or if someone who still needs to bring his sacrifices entered the Israelite courtyard, he is not subject to the penalty of lashes but he is given stripes for acting rebelliously.
Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 3:10
Just like there’s a Torah obligation to send ritually unclean people out of the Temple, if they enter, they violate a Torah prohibition. This is seen from Numbers 5:3: “They shall not render their camp unclean,” referring to the camp of the Shechinah.
