1,005. Waking One's Parents
143:4 If one's parent was sleeping and the keys to the child's business were under their pillow, he is not permitted to wake them, even if he will lose a lot of money. However, if the parent will profit by being awoken and not doing so will upset him, then it is a mitzvah to wake him up because he will be happy about it. Similarly, it's a mitzvah to wake him to go to shul or for any other mitzvah because every one of us is obligated to honor G-d.
143:5 If a person needs something in the city and he knows that they will fulfill this request for his father, even though he knows that they will also do so for him, he shouldn't say, "Do it for me," he should say, "Do it for my father" because this brings honor to his father.
