1,006. Standing for Parents

143:6 Let's say that someone's mother asked him to do a certain thing and he complied, and then his father asked him, "Who told you to do this?"  If the son feels that saying it was his mother will make his father angry at her, he should not tell him that she told him to do the thing, even though refusing to tell him will make his father angry at him.

143:7 A person is obligated to stand in the presence of his father or mother.
