2,943. The Valuation of Persons of Indeterminate Gender

Hilchos Arachin Vacharamin 1:4

All the years for valuations are counted day by day from one’s birthday. The shekel is the holy shekel, which is 320 barleycorns’ weight in pure silver. Chazal added to this value to make it equal a sela, as was discussed in Hilchos Shekalim.

Hilchos Arachin Vacharamin 1:5

There is no valuation for an intersex person (androginus) or a person of indeterminate gender (tumtum) because the Torah only prescribes valuations for a definite male and a definite female. Therefore, if a tumtum or an androginus commits their own valuation, or if someone else commits their valuation, the statement carries no weight.
