2,267. There is No Guardian for Promiscuity

Hilchos Issurei Biah 22:14

The Sages enacted that women should speak to one another when in a restroom so that men will know not to enter and end up alone with them.

Hilchos Issurei Biah 22:15

We don’t appoint even an upright and trustworthy man to guard a courtyard where women live. This is so even if he stands outside the courtyard because of the principle that there’s no guardian when it comes to illicit activity (i.e., no one is considered beyond temptation). A man may not appoint a household administrator because this would be a source of temptation for his wife.
