1,982. To Whom the Warning Does Not Apply

Hilchos Sotah 1:6

If a man told his wife not to seclude herself with a certain boy below under the age of nine or with a certain animal, this is not considered a warning. This is because Numbers 5:13 specifies that “a man had relations with her,” which excludes a minor and an animal. A woman is not prohibited to her husband because of them.

Hilchos Sotah 1:7

If a husband waives his warning before his wife enters into seclusion with man X, the warning is canceled as if it had never been made at all. However, if he only waives the warning after she has been secluded with X, then the warning can’t be canceled. If a man divorces his wife, it’s as if he canceled the warning; if he remarries her, he would have to issue a second warning (if he wants to re-obligate her).
