1,729. A Get Tattoo
Hilchos Geirushin 4:4
If the text of the get and the witnesses’ signatures were tattooed on a servant’s hand and the servant is in the woman’s possession, divorce is effected even without witnesses to the transferal because such a thing can’t be forged. Even if a servant was known to belong to the husband, the get is tattooed on his hand, he’s in the woman’s possession and she says that he was given to her in front of witnesses, the divorce is in doubt. This is because possession of living things that can move on their own is not proof that one owns them.
Hilchos Geirushin 4:5
If the text of a get and the witnesses’ signatures were engraved on a tablet and the tablet is in the woman's possession, then divorce is effected. This is so even if it’s known that the tablet already belonged to her because a woman can write her own get. A get is verified based on the signatures in the absence of witnesses to its delivery.
