631. Trapping Animals

87:20 On Shabbos, one may not cage or otherwise trap an animal or bird that is not yet trained to return to its cage at night, or one that had formerly been so trained but rebelled and ran away. If the animal or bird is in the house or the cage and the door is open, one may not close it because this would trap the animal or bird inside.   87:21 If an animal or bird is already trained and is domesticated so that it normally returns to its place at night but on this occasion it has gone out and the owner is concerned that it shouldn't be stolen, he may drive it to a safe place but he may not carry it by hand because animals and birds are muktzeh.
