3,952. Where the Bigdei Kehunah Were Kept
Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 8:7
All of the kohanic garments were made only using communal funds. If a person pledged one of the kohanic garments, he would give it to the community, after which it could be used. Similarly, service utensils and wood for the woodpile that were donated by an individual to the community could be used. Even a communal sacrifice that an individual personally donated could be used so long as he gave it to the community first.
Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 8:8
They made many sets of the uniforms worn by the regular kohanim. There were ninety-six cubbies in the Temple where these clothes were kept, four cubbies per watch. The name of each watch was written its cubby, all of which were kept closed. When the members of a watch started their duty rotation on their assigned Shabbos, they would open their cubby throughout their week and take their uniforms. When their shift was over, they returned the clothes to their cubbies and closed them.
