3,883. The Women’s Section and The Israelite Courtyard

Hilchos Beis HaBechirah 7:17

The women’s section is holier than the cheil. One who has immersed but who must wait until sundown to be purified may not enter there. This rule was enacted by the Sages; under Biblical law, such a person may enter the Levite camp. A person who was rendered impure with corpse uncleanliness and entered the women’s section is not obligated to bring a sin offering.

Hilchos Beis HaBechirah 7:18

The Israelite courtyard is holier than the women’s section. One who purified himself but has not yet brought his sacrifices may not enter there. A ritually unclean person who enters there is subject to the penalty of kareis (spiritual excision).
