Hilchos Shemittah v’Yoveil 7:19

The laws of shemittah apply to roses, cloves and chestnuts, as well as to the money received in exchange for them. The laws of shemittah don’t apply to sap that flows from balsam trees, leaves or roots. The laws of shemittah do apply to sap that flows from undergrown berries, as well as to the money received in exchange for it.

The preceding halacha applies to a tree that grows edible fruit. If it doesn’t, then the sap of its leaves and roots is considered its fruit, so the laws of shemittah apply to it and to money received in exchange for it.
