Meilah 2:7-8

Meilah 2:7

The laws of misappropriation apply to the showbread from the time that it’s consecrated. Once it’s formed a crust in the oven, it can be rendered unfit by a t’vul yom and one who must still bring an offering to effect atonement, and it can be arranged on the Table. Once the dishes of frankincense have been offered, the laws of piggul, nosar and ritual impurity apply but those of misappropriation don’t.

Meilah 2:8

The laws of misappropriation apply to flour offerings from the time that they’re consecrated. When put into a Temple vessel, they can be rendered unfit by a t’vul yom, by one who must still bring an offering to effect atonement, or by being left overnight. Once the handful of flour has been offered, the laws of piggul, nosar and ritual impurity apply. The rest of the flour is not subject to misappropriation but the handful is until it’s taken to the place of ashes.
