152:1 A man is not permitted to be alone with a woman, whether she is young or old, Jewish or non-Jewish, related to him or not. The exceptions to this are that a father may be alone with his daughter, a mother with her son, and a husband with his wife even when she is ritually unclean. The case of a bride who is ritually unclean is discussed in chapter 157.

152:2 If a man's wife is present, he may also be alone with another woman since his wife will watch over him. However, a Jewish woman should not be alone with non-Jewish men even if their wives are also present.
