143:22 A convert is not allowed to curse his non-Jewish father, nor to treat him contemptibly, so that people won't say that converting made him a worse person. Rather, he must treat him with a degree of honor.

144:1 A person is obligated to honor his rebbe and to defer to him even more than he does to his father. This is because his father brought him into life in this world but his rebbe brings him into life in the Next World.
