3,056. Mixed Species of a Vineyard

Hilchos Kilayim 4:16

From the preceding halachos, it should be apparent that if there isn’t enough room between two species for them to nourish one another, we aren’t concerned that they will appear to be mixed species. If the species are visually distinct from one another, we aren’t concerned that they nourish one another, even if they’re immediately adjacent.

Hilchos Kilayim 5:1

If someone plants two species of grain or two species of vegetable together with grapes, he is liable to two sets of lashes – one for planting his field with mixed species (violating Leviticus 19:19) and one for planting his vineyard with mixed species (violating Deuteronomy 22:9).
