2,929. A Woman Whose Nazirite Vow Was Annulled
Hilchos Nezirus 9:9
Let's say that a woman makes a nazirite vow. She puts animals for her offerings aside, after which her husband annuls her vow. If an animal belongs to the husband, it goes out and grazes with the herd because one can’t consecrate something that belongs to someone else. If the animals for the offerings belong exclusively to the wife, such as if they were given to her as a gift on the condition that her husband has no say in them so that she can do as she pleases with them, then the sin offering is left to die, the burnt offering is brought as a burnt offering, and the peace offering is brought as a peace offering; it may be eaten for one day and it doesn’t require that bread be brought with it.
Hilchos Nezirus 9:10
If a woman put money aside but didn’t earmark it for particular offerings, then it’s used to buy freewill offerings. If it was earmarked, the money put aside for the burnt offering is used for a burnt offering, the money for the sin offering is brought to the Dead Sea (i.e., destroyed), and the money for the peace offering is used for a peace offering that may be eaten for one day and need not be brought with bread.
