2,600. Mothers or Fathers?
Hilchos Shechita 12:11
The prohibition against slaughtering an animal and its young applies to the mother because the calf is certainly its young. If the father’s identity is definitely known, it and its young shouldn’t be slaughtered on the same day, though if one did so, he isn’t liable to lashes because there’s a doubt as to whether this prohibition applies to the father.
Hilchos Shechita 12:12
If someone slaughters a cow and then slaughters two of its calves, he is liable to two sets of lashes; if he slaughters its calves and then the cow, he is only liable to one set of lashes. If he slaughtered the cow, its female calf and the calf of its calf, he is liable to two sets of lashes. If he slaughtered it, the calf of its calf and then its calf, he is only liable to one set of lashes.
