2,591. Strings From the Lungs
Hilchos Shechita 11:8
If a string-like adhesion is found reaching from the lung to wherever it goes, even if it’s as thin as a hair, the animal is prohibited.
Hilchos Shechita 11:9
Similarly, if a string-like adhesion goes from the lung to the heart, the diaphragm, the pocket of the heart or the “rose” of the lung, the animal is prohibited, regardless of whether the string came from the lung or one of its lobes, and even if it’s as wide as a hair. Similarly, if the “rose” is attached to its pocket, or if a string reaches from the “rose” to its pocket, the animal is prohibited. If a string reaches from lobe to lobe out of order, the animal is prohibited.
