2,150. Children Who Got Mixed Up
Hilchos Issurei Biah 12:14
If a man engages in sexual relations with a servant woman – even in public – a zealot is not permitted to strike him down, not even if the act is still ongoing. Similarly, if a man marries a servant woman, he is not liable to lashes under Biblical law because the woman’s immersion and acceptance of the mitzvos removed her from being considered non-Jewish.
Hilchos Issurei Biah 12:15
If a Jewish child got mixed up with the child of a servant woman, each one’s status is in doubt. Each of them is possibly a servant so the servant woman’s master is made to free them both. If the master died and his son is one of the children who got mixed up, then when they reach the age of majority, they should free one another. After this, both are permitted to marry in the general Jewish population.
