314. Meat and Milk
46:5 One may not eat, cook or derive any benefit from a combination of milk and meat. If any food or utensil becomes contaminated by a meat-and-milk combination, an authority must be consulted for direction. There are a variety of factors that determine whether or not benefit is prohibited in a given case.
46:6 Two Jews who know each other may not eat together at the same table if one is having meat and the other is having dairy until such time as they draw some distinction between them, such as separate placemats or some unusual object between them as a reminder. The fact that these two diners do not typically share food is not sufficient. They should also not drink from one container because of crumbs of food that get into the drink.
