330. Insects in Flour
46:37 It is not uncommon to find large insects in flour and similar products. It is sufficient to sift the flour with a sieve that is fine enough to catch the bugs. If there are tiny insects, sifting would not be sufficient. If one has grain that has insects in it, an authority must be consulted regarding how to go about grinding it to make flour. 46:38 If a food that does not normally get insects is infested, one should not sell it to a non-Jew if there is reason to suspect that he might re-sell it to another Jew. One may use such produce to make brandy and we do not anticipate any halachic problems arising so long as the produce was not left infested for a long time.
