Yearning to be a Nazir

"דבר אל בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם איש או אשה כי יפלא לנדר נדר נזיר להזיר לה"

A neder is the manifestation of an internal desire for spiritual greatness. When a person feels the internal stirring, the goal is to articulate the desire in the form of a neder. Take that which is holding you back and separate from it.

Taking a neder is the creation of a new איסור דאורייתא! How are we as mortals able to introduce biblical laws?
