607. A Prisoner's Shackles
84:6 A prisoner in chains is allowed to go out wearing them on Shabbos. (This is because chains are like clothing in that there is no concern that a prisoner can just take off his chains and end up carrying them - Mishnah Brurah 301:69.)
84:7 One might think to use stilts to walk through mud or puddles but we may not go out wearing stilts on Shabbos. (Stilts are not a normal form of footwear so, unlike shoes, they are not considered the equivalent of one's clothes - MB 301:70.)
