I Chronicles - Chapter 20
Well, That Was A Short Chapter!
Yoav was running the campaign against Aram while David remained in Jerusalem. David took the crown of Ammon for himself. (It was far too heavy to wear, so he used it for ceremonial purposes.) There was much wealth gathered from the spoils of this war. David punished the Ammonites with iron instruments, then his forces returned to Jerusalem.
Later, war broke out with the Philistines, but it was ended when Israel defeated their champion. This actually happened three times and each time a giant Philistine was killed, including Goliath's brother, Lachmi, and an unnamed giant with six digits on each extremity. (The parallel account in II Samuel 21 mentions a fourth skirmish, during which it was decided to retire David from battle.)
