Hilchos Maasei Hakarbanos 1:7

The one who brings any of the aforementioned individual offerings is responsible for it and for its libations (i.e., to replace them if necessary), except for an animal pledged as an offering. The community is not responsible for offerings or their libations. If an offering was already offered, then they are responsible for its libations. If an individual’s sacrifice had to be offered at a specific time (for example, the korban Pesach), then it is like a communal offering and one is not responsible to replace it.

All animals brought as burnt offerings must be male, though they may be of sheep, goats or cattle, either large or small. They may also be brought from doves or pigeons, either male or female.
