#292: The Condition of “Ochel Mitoch Pesolet” - A Mixture of One Type
1. We mentioned that borer does not apply to sorting different pieces of one type of food. In such a case, one could separate the part one does not want (pesolet) from the part one does want (ochel). Poskim discuss what is considered one type and types of food in this context.
2. Roasted and boiled meat/chicken are considered two types, and chicken and turkey are certainly considered two types. (Mishna Berura 319:15)
3. Poskim disagree as to whether different parts of chicken (e.g., legs, breast) are considered one or two types. One who specifically wants one type and not the other would consider it two types. (Orchot Shabbat 3:33). More examples tomorrow, IY”H.
